    About

American artist Alissa Goble (b. 2004) is originally from Hickory, North Carolina. Her work intertwines memory, family, identity, and personal history to explore how objects can create narrative and serve as physical connections to the past. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Studio Art at Appalachian State University, where she studies Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design. Within her practice, she investigated the contrast between metal and fiber. These materials carry opposing associations of strength and softness, yet in her practice, the roles begin to shift. Through this transformation, she reflects on the uncertain balance between the permanence, fragility, and endurance of memory.
Rooted in her own childhood experiences, her work draws from family photographs and familiar icons, imagery, and phrases. She revisits small details to reimagine specific moments in her life, reconstructing them through form, layering, and narrative. Each piece becomes an intimate, playful, and intricate act of remembrance that explores how objects and symbols can hold and expand memory.
Her work has been featured in exhibitions such as EXPOSED! at New York City Jewelry Week, and the 2025 Society of North American Goldsmiths Student Exhibition. She is also a recipient of the 2025 SNAG Educational Endowment. Alissa will earn her undergraduate degree in May 2026 and plans to continue her artistic studies in graduate school.
