Reliquary (Nana's Pocket Watch)
Reliquary (Nana's Pocket Watch) is an exploration of metal fabrication techniques and materials, as well as personal sentiment and memories. This piece was made using jeweler's brass, copper, and my Nana's pocket watch. This was my first project as a Metalsmithing student at App State. I learned and practiced silver soldering, forming, etching, among other processes to create this piece. Reliquary is inspired by the flowers, birds, and other imagery I recall while spending time with my Nana. This reliquary captures her life as well as her memory.
